Palau 325
On the World War II map issued in 1994
by Palau to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pacific campaign,
the Dutch East Indies are identified as the Dutch West Indies.
The West Indies are in the Caribbean. The island identified as Formosa
is actually Hainan; Formosa is on the upper edge of the map to the
left of "Hong Kong." Okinawa (under the middle stamp at the top)
should be much further north. The location identified as "Papua"
(above the MacArthur stamp at the bottom) is actually the Cape York
Peninsula of Australia.
