In observance of the two
hundredth anniversary of the Netherlands Literary Society a set of
five stamps was issued in 1966. One of the stamps shows a miniature of
a knight on horseback from a manuscript of the Roman van Walewein
(the Romance of Gwain), 1350. The other is an illuminated
initial from a manuscript of Ferguut, 1350, based on the
Roman de Fergus by Guillaume le Clerc.
