In the case of Arabic maps of the Middle East it is not always clear if we
are dealing with errors or propaganda.
On the two stamps issued by Qatar in 1972 marking the
10th session of the Arab States Civil Aviation Council, the Arab states are
shaded on a globular map of Africa and the Middle East. On this map the
territory of Israel is shaded along with that of Jordan. While it is not
clear whether the omission is political or a design error, for now, I will
take it as an error.
