The Islands are Too Large

Up Catalog

The Bahamas island chain is highlighted in yellow on this stamp issued in 1976 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the United States. The islands are so small they would be almost invisible on the stamp at their true size. They are much larger than they should be if they were in scale. In addition, the islands of the Turks and Caicos group are included at the southern end of the chain of islands.
