The Psalter of Richard de Lisle was painted at Westminster in the early fourteenth century. The text has been lost and all that remains are the miniatures. The Psalter is now in the British National Library. The British stamps were issued in 1970; those from Dominica, in 1977.

The Angels' Announcement to the Shepherds

     In the miniaature of the Annunciation to the Shepherds a restorer converted a long "s" into an "r" making Excelsis into Excelris.
