     The comet of 1531 is pictured in relationship to the sun by Peter Apian. He believed that the tail of a comet always pointed away from the sun. In his picture he showed the comet in in the constellation of Leo, in five positions, in relationship to the sun. The woodcut was printed in the essay, Practica, 1531.
