In 2000 Sweden issued a pair of stamps celebrating "The Dawning of a New Millennium." The design shows a map of Heligholmen, a small island in the Baltic Sea just south of Gotland, at the moment the first rays of sunlight shown on the island at 8:27 a.m. on January 1, 2000.
