Brazil 1398
The stamp is one of a set of three issued by
Brazil in 1975. It shows petroglyphs from the “cultivated rock” of
Ingá, the most important object in Brazilian archaeology. It is a
monolith, 23 meters long and 1 meter high, engraved with inscriptions
called “itacoatiaras.” It is located in the western part of the state
of Paraíba, 80 km from the capital, João Pessoa.
