Andorra is a small country
(179 square miles) with two governments, Spanish and French, a
co-regency. It is located in the Pyrenees mountains between France and
Spain. It is a parliamentary democracy with two heads of State and a
single capital, Andorra la Vielle. It has no money of its own but uses
both French and Spanish coin and currency. It has two postal systems
with their own stamps valued in terms of the national money used in
the regency. However, internal mail is carried free.
The stamp was issued in 1978 to mark the 50th
anniversary of the Spanish postal service.
The stamp below was issued in 2004 by the
French Andorran postal service.
