New Zealand - Ross Dependency - L84-L88

     In 2004 New Zealand issued, for the Ross Dependency, a set of 5 stamps showing the mating cycle of the Emperor Penguin, and across the bottom a small map of a portion of Antarctica. The Ross Ice Shelf is the area at the bottom of the map within the “V” shaped indentation. The Dependency extends to the Antarctic Pole.
     The penguins are the focus of the set showing the nurturing of the penguin chick by the male adult.
