In 1896 the Customs Post of China was change by Imperial edict,
effective January 1, 1897, to a National Post. This edict was
commemorted in 1947 with a set of five stamps. The design on the low
value of the set includes a ship, a train, and three airplanes which
carry mail, and a globe with a small map of China. Only the dates 1896
and 1946 are in Latin characters.
