Albert Honoré Charles Grimaldi, Albert I, of Monaco was instrumental in publishing the first edition of the Carte Générale Bathymétrique des Océans in 1903. The most recent edition was published in 2003.
     The tête bêche pair issued by Monaco in 2003 features a picture of Albert I in the upper left corner, portions of maps of each of the editions of 1903 and 1979, and a portion of the International Bathymetric Chart of the Arctic Ocean from 2000. Small outline maps of the Arctic and Antarctic Circles from 0° to 64° N and S are centered on the upper and lower edges of the stamps.
