To promote Dutch products the Netherlands
issued a stamp in 1995 with a Frysian cow whose spots are maps of
Euopean countries. Among the products shown on the stamp are tulips, a
wooden shoe, cheese, the cow and a Dutch flag. Three countries are
easily identified: the Netherlands in the middle of the cow’s side,
Great Britain, up and to the right of the Netherlands, and Italy, up
and to the left of the Netherlands. I also think the spot at the
throat may be France.
